In June of 2014, a hefty summer storm raged over the Aeugstvalley in the vicinity of Zurich, and lightning struck the over 120 year old poplar that guarded the farmhouse of the Stehli family. Throughout the years, this impressive tree had survived three lightning strikes thus protecting the house. But this last lightning strike proved deadly.
