Vinyl-GPT
Immerse yourself in the innovative world of "Vinyl-GPT," an ever-evolving art installation that bridges the timeless allure of vinyl records with the dynamic capabilities of artificial intelligence. At the center of this experience is a vinyl record, freely placed on a wall, ready to be swapped out at any moment to bring new stories to life. This flexibility allows visitors to continuously transform the installation, exploring an endless library of music history.
The setup includes a Raspberry Pi connected to a camera and a projector, creating a seamless interaction between analog and digital. When a visitor presses a button, the Raspberry Pi camera captures an image of the current vinyl cover and sends it to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The AI model then generates captivating insights about the album, from cultural significance and fun facts to deeper interpretations of its impact on the music world.
These AI-generated responses are projected next to the physical vinyl in an eye-catching 80s-style typewriter effect. The glowing, pixelated text recalls vintage computer screens, imbuing the room with a sense of digital nostalgia. As each new record is placed and analyzed, the installation transforms, inviting continuous engagement and discovery.
"Vinyl-GPT" celebrates the fluid nature of music and storytelling, making each interaction a unique experience. This artwork encourages visitors to reflect on how technology reshapes our understanding of art, highlighting the interplay between the tactile warmth of vinyl and the precision of artificial intelligence. In this constantly changing space, past and future coalesce, creating an unforgettable journey through the ever-expanding universe of music.
